Hungry is no way to live.

Three times each week (M-W-F) "The Harvest" food pantry supplies grocery orders to those of our neighbors who need help with their food budgets

Twice per week (Wednesday and Friday) "The Harvest" food pantry supplies grocery orders to those of our neighbors who need help with their food budgets. Each Thanksgiving and Christmas, Holiday Meal boxes are distributed to hundreds of families who otherwise wouldn't have a Turkey or Ham Holiday Meal.

US government commodities may be obtained once per month in lieu of the regular food pantry visit to income qualified individuals and families.

The Salvation Army feeds those most in need in our community.

This food is available to anyone in need this includes homeless people of all ages, as well as individuals and families who may be down on their luck and in need of a helping hand. In addition to addressing the immediate symptoms of food insecurity, our programs are designed to help identify and treat its root cause. This approach focuses on meeting the physical, mental and spiritual needs of each person and helps move many from hungry to fully healed.

Each year The Salvation Army provides assistance to those in Need in various ways.

"The Harvest" Food Pantry
By offering access to free, fresh produce and canned goods, we provide valuable meal supplementation while helping those in need maintain their independence and dignity.

In Sheridan, we provide families with a shopping style food bank through our Harvest program, that allows people the freedom to choose the foods they want and that fit into their cultural or religious dietary needs.

"The Harvest" Hours

Wednesday & Friday: 10:00am-12:00pm; 1:00pm-3:00pm

In addition, we receive food from the government's TEFAP program. There is an Income Requirement for participating in the program. When enrolled in this program you can only receive one food box per month.

Bills Assistance
Many families and individuals facing poverty often must make the painful choice between heating and eating - that is, they must decide whether they'll pay their bills or pay for food. Without sufficient funds, many are forced to go without a warm, nutritious meal in order to keep a roof over their head.

Our social services office is open each day from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Monday - Friday) and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

Thanksgiving & Christmas Food Boxes
This provides meals for those that would not otherwise have one for the holidays. We build the boxes base on family size. This program requires you to sign up in advance in order to receive a meal. Look for sign-up information should be known by mid-October 2021.  Call us or look for postings.
